San Miguel Pure Foods : Kids Kitchen Camp Bloggers' Kids Series 2019

"If kids are much more involved in food preparation, then they truly get encouraged to eat more, which promote: good nutrition, plus they learn' cooking early, a very important life skill” says Llena Tan-Arcenas, the Culinary Services Manager of San Miguel Pure Foods.

Growing up, my daughter already showed her love in the kitchen. Watching me prepare and cook her favorites makes her happy.

Last Friday, May 3, 2019 at the 28‘" floor Kitchen Studio of the Makati Diamond Residences (MDR), mommy bloggers kids as little chefs-in-the-making got their hands busy at the Kids Kitchen Camp organized by the San Miguel Pure Foods (SMPF) Culinary Center in collaboration with Makati Diamond Residences.

On its 24" year, the annual activity of SMPF Culinary Center aims to instill love and appreciation for food and cooking while introducing various SMPF products that can help in preparation ease and enhance skills of young budding cooking enthusiasts.

This year, the little chefs were taught how to prepare 5 scrumptious yet kid-friendly recipes. So easy to prepare with simple ingredients that can be found inside mom's cupboard in case of "Mom is out" scenario. Kids should learn to survive in kind of situation.

Nachos Afritada using Purefoods Chicken Afritada and Magnolia Cheddar Cheese

Quick Meaty Spaghetti using Dari Creme, Monterey Ground Pork, Purefoods Tender Juicy Hotdogs Jumbo and Magnolia Cheezee

Pulled Pork Tacos made from Purefoods Pulled Pork BBQ Pinoy Style and Magnolia Cheezee Squeeze

Chicken Tinola simplified by using Magnolia 3-way Chicken Cinger-Base

Flower Pot Cakes made from Magnolia Devil’s Food Cake, La Pacita Graham Crackers, Magnolia Cream Cheese and Magnolia All Purpose Cream

Quite a number for this class! The kids were divided into 6 groups, mostly 5 in one group. They worked with the assigned SMPF Culinary Center chef to teach and assist them during the cook-off. Abi's group was under Chef Robert. As you can see, she's the only rose among the torn.

There's always room for dessert for my Sweetie!

Yay! She got her certificate!

The fun-filled learning experience is now a part of Abi's a day to remember. Though the life skill of cooking maybe already innate in her system, doing it with her same age group can add more adventure.

Thanks to SMPF Culinary Center and Makati Diamond Residences for the awesome Friday afternoon to remember.
