MAKATI DIAMOND RESIDENCES : Experience Champagne and Tapas Buffet

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Also the best time to gather your family and friends for delightful dinner meal and long conversation. And having unlimited champagne and tapas is the best way to extend our catching up sessions.

This December, have your fill of bottomless bubbly with Jean Vesselle Brut Reserve at the forefront, a true grower champagne with a breathtaking blend of 80% Pinot Noir and 20% Chardonnay.
Break your diet for a night! Because who can resist unlimited portions of Jamon Serrano and U.S. Beef Belly? What about complement your champagne with some of Alfred’s best-tasting tapas, including fish brandade, a milky Seabass puree on crostini and Bird’s Nest with Chicken and Barbeque Sauce, among others.
The horseradish cream and red wine sauce makes this slow cooked U.S. beef belly so desirable. I love it with the veggies on the side too. Even our young foodie enjoyed every slices of this piece of heaven.
Yes, of course, our young foodie got her favorite too. These cute bite size filled her plate for some 2 or 3 rounds this evening.  Well, I guess mom and daughter must almost have the same taste. I also indulged myself with this yum.

Shrimp on top of the pasta! Winner! I waited for this one. As shrimp as one of my favorite seafood, I definitely did not miss this one. Perfectly sautéed shrimp!

You may start to fill up with irresistible melted Raclette with your preferred accompaniments including cornichons, cocktail onions, boiled baby potatoes, and rye bread, to truly bring out the phenomenal flavors of this delicious Swiss cheese.

The truth is...I did not start from here, because I can not contain my desire for the jamon and the beef on the other end of the buffet table. But Mr. Ang really started at this station and I think he enjoyed 2 or 3 rounds before he went to the next trays.

I most of the time watch my diet, but tonight, I had to put it aside. I took a little bit of everything on my plate and that's called "happiness". The best three on my plate! The overflowing champagne even made my night.

And my usual note "There's always room for DESSERT." That goes alone for our young foodie.
And wait, I really appreciate a cozy yet elegant ambiance here. You can occupy for an intimate table for two, three, four or a long table for your big family.

By the way, other beverage options include red and white wine, select cocktails, local beer, sodas, chilled juiced, and iced tea.

Bring your family and friends for a night of UNLIMITED! Champagne, tapas and more!

The Launch of PHILIPS "MOM for Moms" Campaign

Here in the Philippines, the maternal mortality rate, a priority in the Sustainable Growth Development goals of the government , is deemed too high at 162 deaths per 100,000 live births as of 2015.

Although it has been decreasing in recent years, it has not been reduced enough to meet the Millennium Development Goal target of 52 deaths per 100,000.
Maternal deaths remain a major concern and according to the Department of Health,  there are at least three (3) contributing factors to this  – firstly, delays in reaching appropriate centers; secondly delays in health care provision for expectant mothers; and thirdly delays in them seeking medical help.
As a leading health technology company, we’ve been here in the Philippines for more than 60 years, and we’ve been working tirelessly to help prevent, treat and ultimately empower every Filipino.
We saw the opportunity to introduce an innovative solution to address the root causes of the Philippines’ high maternal mortality rate.
Today I’m delighted to unveil our “Philips MOM for Moms” campaign.  This campaign aims to raise awareness about the problems of maternal mortality in the Philippines and show the potential of mobile technology to address some of the root causes. Ultimately we aim to empower Filipino moms to stay healthy during pregnancy.

With this initiative we aim to empower expectant moms in the Philippines to maintain good health through pregnancy and to support the existing maternal health program of the country through Philips innovation.

With this campaign, Philips supports Filipino moms by providing opportunities for them to be healthier and more confident throughout their pregnancy while increasing access to quality maternal health care for all.

We Filipinos are obsessed with coffee. We take it at any given time of the day, enjoying it while ruminating about life on our own, or serving it to bring people together, letting the conversations flow freely with every sip. For local coffee expert and global coffee entrepreneur, Silvester Dan Sibal Samonte, coffee is pure romance and mystery.
“Really good coffee is a love a story on its own. The romance starts with a hike up the mountains to taste the coffee fruit and understand the biodynamics in its growing. When matched with the perfect water and brewing dynamics, the freshly ground coffee turns into a tasty beverage with flavor bursting out of the aromas in your nose and taste in your mouth,” he said.
Growing up in New York City, Silvester orSly,” first learned how to brew coffee for his mother whose work started very early in the day. When he left the Big Apple to work in Singapore, a trip to the tiny coffee shop of Papa Palheta for a grinder changed his understanding of the staple beverage and made brewing exceptional coffee his life’s mission ever since.

Today, Silvester can be found in a hip coffee establishment in San Juan, La Union, delighting customers with handcrafted beverages including his very own coffee concoctions. A film believer in the potential of Philippine coffee, Silvester also actively engages with Filipino farmers, helping them rise above the challenges of the local industry for better quality produce. With his long list of to-dos, what is really keeping Silvester busy nowadays is the World Barista Championship, a premier barista competition set to take place in South Korea this year. Together with his team, they are pushing the boundaries of coffee to bring flavors that will surely woo the judges.

A perfect match for his on-the-go, dynamic lifestyle, Silvester has found a new favorite with the new NESCAFÉ Gold Collection. “When tasting different instant sweetened coffees as part of research and development, the NESCAFÉ Gold Collection flavors consistently came up top in blind tasting. When prepared correctly, it has a taste balance and aroma which can challenge freshly brewed coffees from fully automatic machines,” he shared.

“Seeing foam rise out of an instant beverage is some amazing technology. The aroma coming from the top of the cup is rich and enticing. The taste balance of the coffee beverage rivals many cups Ive had from fully automatic coffee machines. For a hot, sweetened coffee beverage, these qualities are truly the difference to appreciate,” Silvester added.
Offering the signature smooth tastes and enticing aromas skillfully fashioned by NESCAFÉs coffee masters, the NESCAFÉ Gold Collection introduces itself as the new icon of premium quality coffee. Indulge in a deluxe blend of the finest, handpicked Arabica and Robusta coffee beans, perfectly roasted, finely ground, combined with exquisite milk, and layered with a rich, velvety café froth. Choose from three delicious flavors and discover which one satisfies your taste: Latte Macchiato, Cappuccino, and White Espresso.
Now available for your drinking pleasure in supermarkets, large groceries, and select convenience stores.
