Love Day with Called To Rescue

Last Valentines Day, February 14, 2018, Called to Rescue Philippines made a special treat for some kids under the care of DSWD. The kids had an awesome day at Kidzania, a place where children can have fun and educational entertainment.

At Kidzania, children were given a boarding pass for two and a half hour and Kidzos worth 50 to start with their adventure at the facilities. You know, it was such a lovely sight to see them lining up with so much joy an excitement. As most of them were all there for the first time.

These kids may look young but their traumatic experiences maybe too much for them to handle. Human trafficking has been rampant not only in other countries, sadly,  the number here in Philippines is already fast growing fast like  wild mushroom anywhere. Children has basic needs that should be met not to be deprived.

Mr. Anthony Pangilinan, the Officer-in-charge of Called to Rescue Philippines shared a short message to the children, "Mahal kayo ng Diyos". And my heart was so overwhelmed how these children still manage to smile and believe that God is in control.

After on- job-immersive Kidzania activities, the kids and the DSWD workers went down to the theater for a short program prepared for them. They were  song numbers where the kids even sang along with our talented local singers.

The program may have ended but the happiness that you can feel from these children is priceless. It may be just a day of work and play at Kidzania, but this will surely be treasured in their pure hearts.

The Philippines is now becoming a nest of human traffickers, where most victims are coming from less fortunate families.  As the social media and technology advancement helps in so many ways, the dark side of using it to pushing human trafficking online is what's really happening now. They use children as their sex object to make money without their conscience.

We might see some incident on the street of a child being dragged by someone...we can also do our part. Be it a parent who are sometimes even the ones marketing their children to prey. We can make a move and dial the number that can somehow save a life or two. We can save them one at a time. So sad, that some children would need to be rescued from their own parents.

Called To Rescue is a non-profit worldwide organization given to rescuing minor children from sex trafficking, violence and abuse.

The three main thrusts of Called to Rescue Philippines are:

1. CTR  are dedicated to prevent child trafficking through education and training of youth of all ages and their parents as well.

2. CTR are dedicated to the child until he/she has experienced healing.

3. CTR are dedicated to spreading awareness about child trafficking, and ways to rescue children who are victims of this crime.

Called to Rescue, mission is to mitigate child trafficking by rescuing children, rehabilitating them, and spreading awareness about our cause.

Called to Rescue is a non-profit, worldwide organization founded by Dr. Romine in 1988 which aims to  rescue of minor children from sex trafficking, violence, and abuse.

Yes, human trafficking is happening here. Do not play deaf or blind. Do your part and save lives.

LUMU Beerhouse & Filipino Kitchen : A New Place To Enjoy

The newly opened tambayan restaurant called LUMU was named after its chef, Luigi Muhlach. The word LUMU derived from the first two letters of the chefs name LU for Luigi and MU from Muhlach. With the name that also happens to be a clever abbreviation for "Love you, miss you", LUMU is every bit the fix of nostalgia that leaves you with pun intended, good taste in your mouth.

LUMU is a new place that offers good food, good drinks and of course good times, just a friendly neighborhood Filipino tamabayan (by standers place). A beer house with safe environment unlike other so called beerhouses. Each corner has a unique design that most young adults or millenials can also enjoy to have photo shoots before diving to their food. Yes, the place is so instagramable! You'll see, it has a stage for live entertainment. If you'll try to bring your dad or your uncle here, they will surely enjoy your treat.

The Ang Foodie Family was so happy to witness the official opening night of LUMU. A star - studded event plus overflowing food and fun with our KTG group.

Take a quick glance of the interesting and unique Filipino dishes that we were able to try during the launch.

Taro and Kamote Nachos Overload
This is your Pinoy version of nachos here in Philippine.  This is so good and so addicting. The toppings and the sauce made it more yummier.

Sisig

The Pares Cuapao
Lumu’s signature beef pares in cuapao. Our young foodie can finish an order of two of this. Something like a light snack but still heavy... Oh, I love it too!

The LuMu A-Bangers sampler
A collection of hugots.... this platter of longganisa is good for sharing. It goes with titles of different emotions that we Filipinos call hugot. Each sausage has a special taste of our Filipino delicacy. The titles itself can also explain the meaning of the flavor.

Love you Kaldereta- de Vino
Looks good, right? So tantalizing! This luscious baby is a goat ribs cooked with red wine, tomato sauce, chorizo and shitake. I so fell in love with this one, I don't even know how to cook this right. Now, whenever I feel like having some Kaldereta, LUMU is just few minutes drive away from my place.

Yikes, don't know how to call this set of bbq sticks...but these are truly awesome!
Fresh Oysters
From LUMU menu you can enjoy goat meat, to comfort classics such as adobo, kaldereta, and bistek tagalog, to an assortment of sausages that are, well, certified bangers, the team serves a strong selection of fairly-priced hapag-kainan hits that successfully fuse classicflavors with contemporary flair.

Megaritas

I am not a drunkard but a tall glass of this baby, I surely can't resist. That's right, margaritas in glasses big enough to last for a full session of much-need chikahan. There are wide selections of drinks where you can go gaga!

We had a true gastronomic night! Another DAEtoRemember for The ANG Foodie Family.

LuMu Beerhouse and Filipino Kitchen is located at the 3/F of Greenbelt 3, Ayala avenue, Makati City.

PROMIL Four i - Shine Talent Camp : Discovering your child’s potential through fun, learning activities

What does your child do well? As parents, we know that our children already have the skills one sort or other. Some kids will have a knack for singing, while others will excel in painting.

Letting them explore on their own is essential to discover and nurture their true gifts. For instance, motivating kids to participate in various activities is a good opportunity to discover their interests. Aside from stimulating their creativity, doing this will also help push children to explore their full potential.
While they are young, allowing your kids to realize their talents is helpful in honing their skills. And as parents, we can be the number one support that they need.

To help nurture our child’s gift, PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6, a venue for children to play and learn, continuously commits into helping the next generation of talents and allow them to discover and develop skills set focused in the field of Art, Engineering, Dance, and Music.

Yvette Villegas, the brand manager of PROMIL® Four, said that the i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 brings a whole new fun, and learning experience for parents and their kids.

“We’re so excited to finally open the most exciting PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 yet, where we will witness, once again, the awesome talents of the young participants,” Villegas added. “This year, we are also bringing back our camp masters on board, who will help discover, nurture, and inspire their talents so that they will shine brightly.”

This season, the PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 showcases four different workshops namely, Music, Dance, Arts, and Engineering. Maestro Ryan Cayabyab returns as the camp master who will lead the Music Workshop, Teacher Georcelle Sy, of the G-Force Dance School for the Dance Workshop, Teacher Robert Alejandro and his team from Papemelroti for the Art Workshop, and a new set of workshops focused on Engineering to be led by Teacher Lei Sta. Maria of Engineering for Kids.

The PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 will run from April 2 to May 3, 2018. It will be conducted in different locations in Metro Manila and will be concluded through a recital on May 11, 2018 where the participants of all four workshops will perform.
The PROMIL Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 will also visit key cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao via road shows to allow children outside Metro Manila to experience the thrill of the workshops.

PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 is now accepting enrollees for the summer activity. To enroll, parents should purchase any of the participating PROMIL Gold® Four or PROMIL® Four variants, which has a corresponding discount to any of the kid’s chosen talent workshop. The pre-registration, on the other hand, will be done online through PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp 6 website.

Since its inception, the PROMIL® Four i-Shine® Talent Camp helped discover and nurture the young Filipinos’ gift in partnership with parents. It is initiated by PROMIL® Four, a milk brand, specially formulated for children above three years old. It is also the only brand that contains NUTRISSENTIALS®—the combination of the unique and important nutrients that help support mental and physical development to help Nurture the Gift, together with balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.

Enjoy PizzaExpress in Manila

On the 21st of February 2018, Wednesday after,  an iconic restaurant chain from the United Kingdom has brought its authentic, fresh, and made-to-order Italian-inspired pizzas to the Philippines. Manila pizza lovers are in for a treat as PizzaExpress opens in Uptown Mall BGC, one of Manila’s main business and lifestyle districts.

PizzaExpress’ founder Peter Boizot opened the first restaurant in Wardour Street, London in 1965. Headquartered in London, PizzaExpress is one of the most successful restaurant brands in the U.K. with more than 500 restaurants in 13 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.

We hope to create a new dining experience in Manila,” said Liam Collette, PizzaExpress General Manager for Hong Kong, UAE, Singapore & Franchises.
