PizzaExpress’ founder Peter Boizot opened the first restaurant in Wardour Street, London in 1965. Headquartered in London, PizzaExpress is one of the most successful restaurant brands in the U.K. with more than 500 restaurants in 13 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
Among PizzaExpress’ offerings, the Calabrese is famous for being the only rectangular pizza on the menu. It packs a Southern Italian punch with its hot Calabrese sausage, spicy and soft ‘nduja salami, and fresh chillies. The tomato passata used on Calabrese and most pizzas is made in Italy by the same Greci family since 1965, which is now imported to Manila.

PizzaExpress’ entry in the Philippines marks the third international market in Southeast Asia after previously expanding in Singapore and Indonesia. The new Uptown Mall restaurant is the first of PizzaExpress’ planned expansion in the Philippines over the next several years.
