NIDO 3+ Launches Always Check The Label Campaign with new endorser Mommy Sarah Lahbati

As mothers, we always want the best for our children. And giving them proper food and nutrition is one way of taking good care of them. Also making sure of  feeding them with the right amount they need.

One of the many things we moms regularly do is to go out and buy food from the market or grocery stores. Aside from having a list of things to buy, do we really check what's the content of what we are buying?

Remember the song of Mother Gothel in the movie Rapunzel? Mother knows best, listen to your momsies, mother knows best...It's true they say mothers know best but sometimes, even mothers need help when it comes to making the right decisions for their child, especially when it comes to their health. It is normal for moms to seek child care advice and parenting tips from experts as well as from family and friends with parental experience. However, there will be instances when they would end up more confused and less confident to make a decision after hearing varying recommendations or contradicting views.

Nestle, NIDO® 3+ launches #CheckTheLabel, an educational campaign to encourage mothers to read and have a better understanding of food labels, so they can make smarter and healthier choices for their child. By checking the label, moms can verify nutritional claims, compare brands, and choose which one offers the best value for money.

Meet the First Time Mom, shares her motherhood experiences with this video.

During the launch of the #CheckTheLabel Campaign, a lot of information was discussed, and one of the very important things are the ways we should check the label and why it is important to check the label every time we purchase stuff, specially the food that we serve to our children.
Why is it important to read food label?
  • To choose the food with more nutritional value
  • To make healthy food choices
  • To help limit daily intake of sugar, salt, fat and cholesterol
How To Read Food Labels
First, take a look at the ingredients which are listed in the order of highest to lowest quantity. Watch out for health-sensitive ingredients such as sugar, salt, saturated fat, and sodium. When it comes to these, moderation is always key to better prevent the risk of obesity, diabetes, and other lifestyle-related diseases.
Second, review the nutrition facts. It is important to go through each one to determine whether or not a particular food product meets the daily nutritional requirements of children, especially during their crucial growing-up years. Knowing the nutritional content can determine if a child is eating a healthy, balanced diet.

Another good reason to check the label is to identify nutrients that are unique to a brand. Not all food products like milk are created the same, so choose the one that provides for your child’s needs, and more.

As developed by the best of Nestlé Research, NIDO® 3+ is the only milk brand with Lactobacillus PROTECTUS®, millions and millions of live good bacteria that maintain the balance of good and bad bacteria in the gut, which in turn help strengthen the immune system. This unique probiotic can be found in every glass of NIDO® 3+ along with other essential nutrients such as: Prebio® 3, indigestible fibers that serve as food for good bacteria to grow and survive; DHA, ALA, LA and Taurine to support proper brain structure; and high levels of vitamins A, D, Calcium and Zinc to support overall growth and development.

Mommy Sarah Lahbati, lending her voice and support to the campaign is proud NIDO® 3+ mommy. Having experienced the same challenge when it was time for her to choose a growing-up milk for Zion when he turned three, the first-time mom learned that the best way for her to make a decision was to do research herself and check the labels on her options. And by precisely checking the label, Sarah Lahbati is assured that she made the right choice with NIDO® 3+.
Mommy Sarah's level of O.C.ness...to the 7th power!

The United States Skin Cancer Foundation, which strongly recommends the use of sunscreens, describes harmful UV rays as part of the electromagnetic (light) spectrum that reaches the earth from the sun. Long wave UVA rays can penetrate the upper layers of the skin known as the epidermis and causes the skin to burn, while UVB goes deeper through the epidermis into the lower layers of skin known as the dermis. Both UVA and UVB are the major culprits in skin cancers and premature skin aging.

@ The Press Launch of Chef Next Door with JONAS NG Season 2

It's a Wednesday event and it's my coding day.  I wonder why I did not had any second thought if I will attend this event or not.

I actually got so excited upon joining the group chat about this invitation. I felt the thrill of attending this one for some reason I do not know. It could be the fact that I love cooking and definitely love eating. Or it can also be the Dine and Jam with Us title, that made me more curious to be a part of this one.

Arriving early in the event place is my usual habit. Whether it's my meeting, speaking, hosting job or bloggers event, I always like to come at least on time.  The warm welcome of the organizers even made my day. And of course, there's the perks of being the first to make it on the scheduled time. I got the chance to kidnap and get a short interview with the man of the day, Jonas Ng, who is so friendly and bubbly. He eagerly gave in to my request for a short video recording, we had it inside the intriguing smoke room of the restaurant. And here it goes...
Before the program started, I was able to meet some new friends like Migz, Donny and Leonard as we waited for more guests to come.  As we all know weekdays are happy days yet traffic days.
MIGZ ANZURES, The Event Host
DONNY ELVINA of THE LAST DON & LEONARD AQUINO OF LEONARDO'S LECHON

Upon entrance, I  fell in love with the venue. The high ceiling, the tables and chairs, the wall decors and everything inside Le Jardin French Restaurant made me fall in love again. I really appreciate this kind of structures. It's so clean and dainty to exactly describe this place. It's actually my first time here too. Best place to bring family and friends to enjoy food and good company.
Everything was served at the bar! Unlimited food, as in! Unlimited Baguio Beer was served too!
WIT'S Spiced GRANOLA
First time to try the different flavors of FOG CITY Artisanal Ice Cream. The taste of San Francisco in every scoop. I love the Butterscotch Peacan, but the Calamansi Pili flavor's so interesting, also a winner!
Feasting will not be complete without a lechon. Leonardo's Lechon, since 1947

#NoToParentJudging

July 2016, Manila, Philippines – As a family-oriented nation, Filipinos put a lot of weight on a child’s upbringing at home. This is the very reason why others are quick to judge parents for every hair that’s out of place, for every mismatched pair of socks or for every tantrum thrown in public places. We witness these things as outsiders, and we automatically associate a child’s unfavorable appearance and behavior as a point against their moms and dads.

As a believer of strong Filipino family ties, Tang knows that we are defined by what happens at home because #WeAreHomeMade. Further, Tang urges you to say #NoToParentJudging and challenges everyone to rise above any judgement.

Tang believes that we are defined by what happens at home. As parents, you do your best to form a home filled with love, warmth and freshness, and those will always matter more than any kind of judgment.

To push these points and provoke audiences nationwide, the campaign launched a video that will make you rethink your thoughts and judgment against others. Watch the video campaign from this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNfPcMGneb0

Have you ever judged a parent? Have you been judged as a parent? Share your stories of #WeAreHomeMade and how we can say #NoToParentJudging.

#BeatEnergyGap by MILO

MILO Philippines leads fight to beat
Energy Gap among children

MANILA, PhilippinesDoes your child seem sluggish, weak, or lacking in focus? He may have Energy Gap.

According to a recent study by the Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI), four out of five Filipino children ages 6 to 12 years old experience energy deficiency or Energy Gap, a condition brought about by an imbalance between the number of calories a child consumes each day and the number they require to support normal growth, physical activity and body function.

MILO, the world’s leading chocolate malt beverage, invites parents to learn more about energy deficiency and how they can help address it. The campaign #BeatEnergyGap encourages moms and dads to give their kids the right amount of energy by serving nutritious meals, making them energized and active throughout the day.

“Energy is a basic need of the body as it fuels all body processes from breathing, blood circulation, digestion, and growth. It is also needed for physical activities like walking, running, and even sitting, and mental activities like reading and thinking,” said Nestle Philippines Corporate Nutritionist Executive Ivy Sicat.

“If children don’t get enough energy from their meals, they will experience energy deficiency or Energy Gap. Having Energy Gap can lead to poor performance inside and outside the classroom; it can also impact on a child’s mood, and affect their holistic growth.”

According to Sicat, the three of the most common signs of Energy Gap among children are sluggishness, weakness, and lack of focus. A child may feel sluggish when he lacks motivation in doing physical and mental activities. He may constantly look sleepy or lazy, which can affect the way he absorbs new knowledge.

When a child feels weak or lacks in physical strength, he often needs to exert extra effort in doing even simple movements like moving the arms, legs, and other muscles. The feeling of weakness affects a child’s performance not only in sports, but also in doing daily physical activities that will develop and strengthen his body growing up.

Lack of focus occurs when there is not enough energy to fuel the brain. When a child lacks focus, it affects how they acquire new lessons in classes and can give a negative impact on his behavior. Other signs a child is experiencing Energy Gap are headaches, stomach aches, and being irritable and restless.

Parents shouldn’t be too alarmed because it’s not too late to #BeatEnergyGap. According to Sicat, one of the best ways to prevent it is by giving kids a complete and nutritious meal that contains the right amount of energy, vitamins, and minerals. MILO has ACTIV-GO which contains PROTOMALT®, which provides the energy to help fuel physical and mental activities. It also has Vitamins B2, B3, B6, B12, C, and D, Calcium, and Iron, which help convert food energy to body energy. A complete and balanced meal, along with a mug of MILO, can help moms and dads energize their kids for physical and mental activities.

“For over 50 years, MILO has always encouraged parents to build champions by being a source of Winning Energy. The recent study of FNRI inspiredus to rally parents around the importance of proper food intake,” said Ellen Grace Isturis, Team Lead for MILO Philippines. “We hope the #BeatEnergyGap campaign helps parents understand how they can address Energy Gap so that they can raise their kids to become champions not only in the court, but also in life.”
