Herbalife Philippines Signs Partnership with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines to Expand its Product Access Points Nationwide

THE PHILIPPINES, Manila, September 5, 2016– Herbalife Philippines, part of the global nutrition company Herbalife, announced a strategic partnership with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines to make it more convenient for Herbalife Independent Members and customers to access its nutrition products. Under the arrangement, Herbalife members and customers will be able to pick up Herbalife products that they’ve ordered from the company at Phoenix retail stations across the country.

This pilot program with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines is a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainable expansion in line with its business growth in the country.  The agreement, and the recent opening of Herbalife’s Quick Response Center in Cebu City, is part of Herbalife’s plan to increase its product access and availability in the Philippines where a recent survey showed weight gain is the top concern of 84 percent of the population.

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines has built an extensive network throughout the country with almost 450 stations and is currently refurbishing existing stations and building new large ones to provide more products to their customers. It was named as the 2015 Outstanding Filipino Franchise in the large-store retail category by the Philippine Franchise Association.

The big reveal hosted recently at Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City made public the all-new mobile app that will make use of augmented reality (AR) with the help of the Jollibee Kids Meal box. It allows kids to try some interactive fun with the fast-food chain’s famous mascot, Jollibee.

The app was developed by renowned Los Angeles-based mobile innovation agency, Trigger. The agency has produced applications for other clients like Sony Pictures, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Lucas Film.

During the program, the Trigger team shared their experience in creating the app that captures the lovable persona of the dancing Jollibee. Trigger Senior Director of Client Services Natasha Weinstein shared their impression, “Everyone just really loves going to Jollibee. It struck us an important part of the Philippines’ pop culture."

This quick immersion of the app’s designers determined the features and the overall appeal of the app. Trigger President and Executive Creative Director Jason Yim explains the app plays on the sense of community. “Getting friends involved and getting your own avatar involved, that’s definitely the most fun part. You can’t help but smile when you do it."

Yim said, “The app is pushing how we can engage kids with augmented reality. It’s more than just having characters appear. It’s interactive and gives a much deeper experience.”

Chico Garcia, the Radio jock  and mom entrepreneur Bettina Carlos, along with her daughter Gummy, were the first to try these features. The experience began by watching the JolliDance Showdown app transform Jollibee’s friendly face on the Jolly Joy Box into a platform. These guests then captured photos for their screen avatars and, after choosing their image on screen, they watched Jollibee and friends enjoy Electro, Pop, and Rock beats.

Other features of the JolliDance Showdown App were also discussed, including unlocking new characters with every visit to Jollibee branches and scanning the Jolly Kiddie Meal promo board located at the store counters.
The event shared the most recent effort of the leading fast-food brand to augment the langhap-sarap experience.

Experience Joy from within as Snow Caps launches Funny Face Yoga


The first time I heard about funny face yoga event, it actually made me curious about it.  And so I blocked the date since I was privileged to receive an invitation from my fellow mommy blogger.  Honestly, I’m not even a fan of yoga, but I felt like it’s so timely with my present health condition. Having been diagnosed with Bell’s Palsy from last month, added so much stresses in my everyday living. But hey, there’s always a bright side!


This is an extra-ordinary afternoon for me! Interesting event plus interesting people to meet. I got inside the event place and was welcomed with the beautiful and accommodating team Publicist PR. Nice cozy place with overflowing wine and a surrounding of beautiful men and women.

I fell in love with this espadrilles! Actually first time to own one of this kind. It's so nice and comfy! We wore it together with the white lounge gown and huge funny face fan. We all then look so cool, a bunch of beauties having hilarious afternoon!

The beautiful and super friendly Managing Director of Team Publicis Works, Ms. Marivic Fajardo gave her welcome speech as she also shares her own experience of finding beauty from within. Ms. Fajardo cited a quote that she once read "To be pretty is a generic lottery, but tobe beautiful is equal opportunity." Which is so true. Real beauty is regardless of our economic status, career, religion, etc...

And today, I met another amazing women who's a former model,  started her career at 12 years old, understood the pressure that society has put on women to be beautiful and perfect. Being immersed in the world of fashion and beauty should be. She witnessed very young girls fall victim to dieting and health disorders like anorexia. She also understood the pressure that women have put on themselves-to be the perfect women, wife, mother. 

At the peak of her career, Vivien decided to leave this world of high-fashion and embraced her new role as wife and mother. She learned that her and society’s definition of ‘’beauty’’ turned out to be unreal and she then went on a pursuit of what real beauty is.

As Vivien shared, part of her journey includes what she learned from yoga as a Kundalini Yoga teacher—one of the biggest learning is finding joy from within. To illustrate the fun side of yoga, Vivien taught guests Funny Face Yoga.

What made it fun was how funny and silly you look and feel while doing the exercises. The exercises showed guest that to be better versions of themselves, they need to learn to laugh—laugh at themselves and laugh with others. Guest saw that by simply laughing at their own imperfections and accepting themselves and accepting themselves as they are, they can create joy from within. It was a beautiful way to learn that true beauty comes not from how you look on the outside, it comes from joy on the inside. Through a simple and gun afternoon of Funny Face Yoga, guests learned how to create their own joy—and through this joy they have also created beauty—beauty that radiates from within. Ford Invest New Technical Training Facility, Launches Scholarship Program

MANILA, Philippines, 7 September 2016 –Ford Philippines today formally inauguted a new technical training facility at the Don Bosco Technical Vocational Education and Training Center (TVET) in Manila as part of its efforts to support educational development.

Ford invested a total of PhP 2,500,000 in the construction and set-up of the new training facility, which features a classroom that can hold 50 students, a vehicle lifter, and 12 cabinets and toolboxes filled with specialized tools.

‘’We’ve had a fantastic partnership with Don Bosco since 2004, working together on a series of iniatives that help develop the technical skills and experience of the TVET students which leads to even better career opportunities’’, said  Lane Mosley, managing director, Ford Philippines.
Ford also announced a scholarship program that will grant 25 deserving out-of-school youth with a full scholarship at the Don Bosco TVET. The scholarship grant entitles each scholar to attend a 15 month-automotive technical course.
Ford tapped the American Chamber of Commerce Foundation to be the third-party administrator of the scholarship program and help screen scholarship candidates, monitor their performance, and find employment opportunities at Ford dealerships after they graduate from course.

The scholarship program is fully-funded by Ford and is estimated to be worth more than one million and six hundred thousand pesos (PhP 1,600,000).

Ford’s thrust of going further aligns perfectly with our philosophy of helping the youth become technically comepentent so they, too, can go further in their lives,’’ said Fr. PhilTA : The Philippine Tennis Summit for Changing the game for the better


September 6, 2016 Manila, Philippines- It's sad to know that there have been issues concerning the development of PhilTA.  Mr. Randy Villanueva, PHILTA's acting president, then organized the Philippine Tennis Summit that gathered local stakeholders of tennis to discuss the present state of the industry and identified action plans towards its improvement. This act is a simple way of promoting reform in Philippine tennis.
During the Philippine Tennis Summit on Tuesday morning, stakeholders, including tennis coaches, players, parents, sponsors, regional representatives and PhilTA officials, among others, along with members of the media, gathered at the Makati Sports Club where issues on Philippine tennis were brought forth. Villanueva, one of the individuals who spearheaded the gathering, presented the current state of Philippine tennis, citing the need to improve the country’s standing in international competitions, increase the number of tennis players in the country, and attract them to become members of the national tennis association that represents the International Tennis Federation in the Philippines, among others.

Mr. Villanueva laid down the plans for Philippine tennis, identifying a strategy that starts with changes within the existing organization, followed by milestones that will create funding and resources, enable extensive training programs, and make way for a consistent supply of high-caliber Filipino tennis players before reaching the ultimate goal of becoming a world-class tennis association. He elaborated that for him to consider the vision of becoming a world-class tennis association, the country should have at least two Olympians, at least two players in the top 100 of the ATP & WTA rankings, four junior players in the Top 100 of the ITF boys’ and girls’ categories, qualify for the Fed Cup World Group, and qualify for the Davis Cup World, all by 2024.  

Mr. Villanueva stressed that to be able to achieve all of these, there’s a need to change the current set-up of the current national tennis association to make way for positive changes specifically in making Philippine tennis inclusive to many. This will pave the way for more active memberships from tennis players, increase in pool of talents, and make the association more sustainable in terms of funding.

“There’s really a need to amend the organization if we are to become a world-class association. The association right now is being run by just 12 people who do not represent any Philippine tennis stakeholders, region or clubs. I think it’s very important that we make it more inclusive to everyone and encourage more participation from the whole Philippine tennis community,” said Villanueva.
One of those elated to hear Villanueva’s vision for Philippine tennis is sports patron and PhilTA chairman of the board, Jean Henri Lhuillier.

“It’s refreshing to have this Philippine Tennis Summit and hear the great plans of Villanueva to move forward Philippine tennis. As always, I’ll be here to support in whatever capacity I can to bring to fruition PhilTA’s plans,” said Lhuillier.

During the summit, Villanueva also advised that he initiated the event in an effort to uplift Philippine tennis and clarifies that he does not have any plans to run for the presidency in the organization’s next election and is just happy to be able to lay down the work for whoever will succeed him.
The program allotted time for the question and answer portion where heavy questions and inquiries were thrown to the Acting President Randy Villanueva.


Mr. Randy Villanueva answered my only one question for him...How do you see PHILTA in the coming 5 years?
While I asked Mr. Lhuillier my question of what made him support PhilTA.  I just learned that he is not just a plain supporter of PhilTA, he himself is an active tennis player too despite his busy schedule.
