Century City Mall Makati: Save the Date for Harringtons Lifestyle Auction

For the first time Harringtons will hold an auction at the 5th floor of Century City Mall on November 12, 2016, 2 p.m., Makati City.  The highly anticipated Harringtons Lifestyle Auction billed as “Treasures of the Century” is simply a commercial event but to discerning buyers, bidders and avid collectors, it is a serious yet an artful business of bidding.

Harringtons Lifestyle Auction understands this sentiment and takes auctions to a whole new level by elevating it into an experience. The upcoming auction of antique furniture and art pieces is no exception.   The auction features extensive collection of vintage sets of furniture and sophisticated artworks by acclaimed and prolific artists. The extensive collection of excellent, authentic and well-curated collectible pieces include works by national artists Abdul Imao, Napoleon Abueva and Victorio Edades as well as paintings by Benedicto Cabrera, Romulo Olazo and Jorge Pineda.

Highlights of Harringtons’ “Treasures of the Century” auction include over fifty remarkable and prized vintage items owned by avid collector and national hero Jose Rizal descendant Dina Velasco. A vintage “Escritoire” desk in solid tigerwood and teakwood will be among the items that will be auctioned off.   Velasco, who collects precious collectibles as a hobby, knows and understands the beauty of auctions.  “We enjoy the history behind each purchase. It’s great to be surrounded by things that go back centuries. I’m wonderfully amazed at the thought that most of these objects have travelled far and have been passed through generations before landing in my home. I think it’s terrific,” Velasco mused in an interview with Living Annual.

Other auction highlights include captivating art wood mosaic pieces by Bagac Wood Mosaic Artists, a group of people from Bagac, Bataan who used to be farmers. Despite dealing with the difficulties of poverty, the group opted to pursue art not only to make a living but also to make a name for their hometown.  Another highlight of the upcoming Harringtons auction is artist Eduardo Castrillo’s intricately designed Crucifix. The 18”x29” delicately sculptured bronze Crucifix depicts the artist’s Christian.

PhilamLife : Securing a Child’s Future through Education

I was so privileged to attend the annual  Homeschooling Conference held every October of the year, which is almost and always few days away from my birthday.  I missed the past conferences and was already intentional to attend this year's event. So blessed, I made it!

We parents dream of a bright future for our children. This is why they study and select the type of teaching method that they think would be the best form of learning for their children.

So happy to have met and listened to these pool of inspiring speakers for the day. There will be no wasted time hearing and learning from the people with amazing thoughts and experiences.
The SPEAKERS
This was the main spirit of the sixth annual Philippine Homeschool Conference Expo (PHC) held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier in Taguig City. With this year’s theme “From roots to wings”, PHC hopes to nourish the firm foundation that they have with parents by continuing to equip them with knowledge and virtues that would help them soar together. The event, led by the Homeschooling Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI) gathered some of the country’s experts on homeschooling to share their insights on the importance and implications of homeschooling.

Among them was Mr. Eric Nicdao, District Manager of Philam Life. Nicdao explained that while there are distinct advantages to homeschooling, it is never without a challenge. “The cost of education for homeschooling a child is not inexpensive as others perceive it to be”, said Mr. Nicdao. He further explained that this is because homeschooling entails the presence of one of the parents at home which will potentially reduce the family’s overall income. With the increasing costs of college education, it will be very daunting to have only one breadwinner. Mr. Nicdao also shared why it is important to plan early for the child’s education.
Mr. Eric Nicdao, District Manager of Philam Life

POTENTIAL HOMESCHOOLING EXPENSES

•The Big Costs
–Curriculum
–Materials(Books, software, videos)
–Parent Training
–Subscriptions
–Memberships

–Extra-curricularActivities

•Hidden Costs
–Utility Bills
–Car Maintenance and Usage
–Groceries
–Opportunity Cost

“As a parent myself, I understand the real-life struggles that parents go through to give the best to their children. It is, therefore, wise and even necessary to invest in a plan with guaranteed education benefits even if school-going children are still quite young. Plans like this should have the potential to grow to cope adequately with annual tuition fee hikes.” Nicdao added. “More to the point, a parent and a child should not have to guess what the future brings. There are too many uncertainties already and having something secure and reliable allows a family to focus on learning and academic excellence rather than trying to make sure that there is a school they can afford.”

L-R: Mr. Eric Nicdao with Mr and Mrs. Edric and Joy Mendoza

To help address these concerns, Philam Life launched a new education product, Future Scholar.

Future Scholar offers guaranteed education benefits and long term growth potential through access to expertly-managed funds. The plan will continue without the need to pay future payments should the payor pass away or suffer total and permanent disability.

It is to these concerns that Philam Life’s Future Scholar plan focuses with its guaranteed educational benefits and unique features available like making life insurance coverage for parents or premium adjustments in times of great need.

To learn more about Future Scholar, please visit http://www.philamlife.com.

Chooks-to-Go: My Perfect Partner as Moms On-the-Go

As a loving mom  to my daughter, I always see to it that I feed her the good food that she deserves. We all know that mothers make the world go round. And in expressing our loving ways, we make sure to delight our family with a delicious meal, whether it’s a traditional home-cooked dish or a take-out favorite.

Whenever I get tied up with errands, I still try my best to serve a quality meal to  my family. One of the lifesavers is our favorite Chooks-to-Go roasted chicken! I just need to cook rice in few minutes an we can instantly eat our family chicken. No need to re-heat since we always buy it fresh from the oven.

Mommy Delamar shares her thoughts and experiences as a Mom-On-The-Go

A firm believer of every Filipino working mom’s unwavering ways of love is Chooks-to-Go, the country’s leading roasted chicken chain with over a thousand rotisserie outlets nationwide. Chooks-to-Go offers ready-to-go, oven-roasted quality chicken as the hardworking moms’ take-home ulam of choice.

During its “Moms On-the-Go” event, Chooks-to-Go introduced its newest brand endorser, Vic Sotto, as well as provided guests with an exclusive preview of its latest campaign: “Hindi Ka Nag-uuwi ng Basta-basta Lang na Ulam.” Attendees were also treated to various activities that celebrated the unique ways mothers show their love, especially through food.

The Crowd got surprised with Bossing sudden appearance on the stage
“Chooks-to-Go appreciates every Filipino mother’s effort to provide food for the family. We want to support this by providing on-the-go moms with an affordable but special take-home ‘ulam’ option, an oven-roasted chicken that’s healthy, juicy, and delicious,” said Ronald Ricaforte Mascariñas, president of Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI) which operates Chooks-to-Go.

BAVI is one of the country’s largest poultry integrators that provide clean, healthy, and affordable poultry products that enable moms to work their magic in the kitchen.

Helping Filipino moms in their loving task of providing a practical food to-go solution, the campaign brings to light Chooks-to-Go as the best value for money take-home meal.

With Vic Sotto at the helm of the campaign, Chooks-to-Go gives working moms a helping hand in continuing their hindi lang basta-basta loving ways, as the go-to, top-of-mind ulam of choice that’s masarap kahit walang sauce.

Like a Bossing: Vic Sotto chooses Chooks-to-Go as his take-home ulam, as influenced by his loving wife

Veteran actor and TV show host, “Bossing” Vic Sotto, has stood as an icon for countless brands. From homecare supplies to local beverage products, Vic’s charismatic appeal and conviction has propelled corporations, as well as himself, into a level of unmatched reliability.

Vic has consistently lived-up to his “Bossing” moniker, as an authority and someone whom Filipinos trust for everyday products. This time, the comedian partners with Bounty Agro Ventures, Inc. (BAVI)—the second largest poultry integrator locally—as the newest brand endorser of Chooks-to-Go, the country’s leading and fastest-growing oven-roasted chicken chain with more than a thousand storess nationwide.

With its “Hindi ka Nag-Uuwi ng Ulam na Basta-basta Lang” campaign, built on the premise of being “Masarap Kahit Walang Sauce”, Chooks-to-Go and Bossing brings ready-to-go, oven-roasted quality chicken closer to Filipino moms as their take-home ulam of choice that will surely delight the family.

“When you say ‘ready-to-go’ and ‘quality food’, it should come with a great serving, taste, and nutrition. Importante ‘yun kasi hindi puwedeng basta-basta lang ang maiuwing pagkain para sa pamilya,” said Vic. “Kung gusto mo ng manok, there’s Chooks-to-Go. Malaman ang manok nila, hindi basta-basta. And the best part—‘pag hinain mo na, ‘yun na ‘yun, hindi mo na kailangan ng sauce.”

As an admirer of hardworking Filipinos, especially moms, Bossing Vic recognizes the efforts made in order to provide food on the table. “Basta hardworking, ako’y saludo, especially for moms because they exert double effort,” the actor said. “That’s why for the times when they can’t cook and kids want delicious food, dumaan ka lang ng Chooks-to Go, okay ka na.”

Practical, affordable, and delicious food to-go, Chooks-to-Go’s superior-quality, oven-roasted chicken goodness brings a fresh and healthy ulam fix to many Filipino households, which, even Vic could not escape. “Personally, I didn’t think twice about promoting this product because Chooks-to-Go is also my wife’s favorite,” Sotto admitted. “Aside from the taste, the price of one whole chicken for the family is reasonable—kayang-kaya eh. Ayos ka na, nag-enjoy ka na, nasarapan ka pa, at nakatipid ka pa!

Endorsing is one thing, but attesting to a product as a part of one’s daily life is a different story. And with Vic’s proven and reliable track record of promoting a product or brand he uses and trusts, families are in for a treat as moms are set to bring home hindi lang basta-basta take-home ulam, but Chooks-to-Go’s oven-roasted chicken that’s always masarap kahit walang sauce.

“We are very excited to have Vic as our endorser because he really believes in the products he promotes,” said BAVI president Ronald Mascariñas. “With Chooks-to-Go and Bossing together, we have a great opportunity to support hardworking moms with a go-to take-home ulam of choice that’s affordable, healthy, and delicious.”

Vivere Salon @ Glorietta 2, ready to beautify you!

Friday night may be a gimmick night for some, but for me, getting a hair treatment and a new hairstyle to a brand new salon is just perfect!  Since I started cutting my hair short again, the next thing I need to do is to maintain it short and clean. I remember, I used to have my very own favourite hair stylist back in high school until I got married and left my home town in Pasig.  Since then, the long search for a good hair stylist had been my struggle.

So happy to have met Ms. Meg, who did my Pixie cut hairstyle, which is a great job!  It's actually my first time to experience a beautiful lady do my hair.  Glad I have no regret about it.

But there's more, before I got my hair cut, I first had my hair treatment with matching massage.

The country's premiere destination for bespoke cuts and styles, Vivere Salon, opens its 10th branch in Glorietta 2, Makati City on September 23, 2016. Committed to be a premium salon that is anchored on the training and education provided by the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Academy—an institution considered to be the Harvard University of hair education— Vivere Salon plans to consistently expand and widen its reach in the forthcoming years.

“At the end of the day, it’s still about creating a cut that our clients will love. It’s finding that right balance between wash and wear as well as unique and edgy; confident in the knowledge that every day, they will wake up with hair that doesn’t have to get blown out or ironed or set to look great,” says Ramon De Ubago III, CEO of Vivere Salon.

Founded in 2003, Vivere Salon celebrated its 13th year Anniversary last January since the Group established its flagship branch (Robinsons Galleria) in 2003. The growth rapidly continued by opening additional branches in Robinsons Midtown in October 2007, SM Megamall in July 2009, Marquee Mall in September 2009, Lucky Chinatown Mall in February 2012, Festival Mall in May 2012, Gateway Mall in June 2013, Fairview Terraces in August 2014, and in Trinoma in March 2015.

“Vivere Salon goes that extra mile to make sure that you don’t just look great when you walk out of our salon—we create cuts that are meant to simplify your beauty routine, without taking anything away from the style of the cut or your personality, long after we’ve blow dried your hair in place,” ends De Ubago.

Vivere Salon currently has 10 branches nationwide including,

Robinsons Galleria
Gateway Mall
Festival Supermall
