MANILA, PHILIPPINES - Lazada Philippines (www.lazada.com.ph) held a thanksgiving dinner and
recognition ceremony for the culmination of their “Affiliate Online Revolution”
contest last January 22, 2016 at the Asian Institute of Management Conference
Center.

The contest called on all new and existing affiliates to step up
to the challenge of generating the most number of sales for Lazada from October
to December 2015. Cash prizes amounting to one million pesos were given away to
top performing affiliates. Michelle Ng, who operates Discount Group Asia, was
awarded Php 200,000 for being the overall top performer. Winners for the other
rounds were also awarded with cash prizes as high Php 150,000 each.
The commission that the affiliate program has extended doubled in
the last two months making potential and current affiliates more driven to earn
extra money in promoting Lazada. Marc Farrales, a full time IT programmer and
the contest’s overall top 2 performer, earned an average of Php 60,000 for the
past two months compared to his average commission of Php 10,000 monthly before
the competition. His strategy is to maximize the use of Facebook groups in
pushing promotions.
More than just profit
More than earning commission, affiliates are able to be part of
the fast growing ecommerce industry. “Through the Lazada Affiliate Program, I
learned to set up online promotions and be a digital marketer. The program
empowered me to earn money to support my college education. It also taught me
how to use my extra time in a very productive way and most importantly, connect
with amazing people whose passion for blogging inspire me everyday to become
better in my craft” mentions Chester Chanco, a 4th year Entrepreneurship
student from the Ateneo de Davao University.
Janette Toral, e-commerce advocate, shares “I am glad that Lazada
took the bold move in launching an exciting affiliate competition. I am sure
that this made our participants realize that affiliate marketing is a lucrative
business if they put their hearts and minds to it. Anyone who aspires to be an
expert in ecommerce should consider becoming an affiliate. It can give you hands
on experience by putting your skills to the test that no formal training nor
program can teach you”.
The recognition ceremony also paved way for the launching of the
Chinese New Year Sale in Lazada. A wide assortment of unique finds for the year
of the fire monkey and discounts as high as 88% across 15 categories will be up
for grabs from January 26 to February 8. Affiliates were further encouraged to
promote Lazada as commissions for this sale will be 20% higher.
