25 Years of Making Wishes Come True: Make-A-Wish Philippines Shines a Starlight on 5,000 wishes and More

Nonprofit organization Make-A-Wish Philippines has officially kicked off its 25th anniversary with Starlight—a magical evening of recognition and celebration at One Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. Guests enjoyed a memorable night filled with festivities, thank you gifts, and heartfelt moments of gratitude, as the event celebrated the incredible contributions that have made the past 25 years of wishes possible, setting the tone for granting more wishes this 2025 and beyond.

The 5000th Wish Milestone

Make-A-Wish Philippines celebrated its 5000th wish last December, granting a girl’s dream to visit Baguio City and make cherished memories with her mom. With the generous support of corporate partner MaxiLife and the Baguio City Mayor’s Office, the wish of the beneficiary, Claire, became a reality on December 17—her birthday. Some highlights of her trip included a warm welcome from Mayor Benjamin Magalong, birthday treats from MaxiCare Baguio, a birthday brunch at Baguio Country Club, and visits to her dream destinations inspired by her favorite P-Pop group, BINI.

Claire’s treasured memories with her mom while exploring Baguio has brought her family unparalleled joy and hope. This milestone—along with other upcoming activities—reaffirms Make-A-Wish Philippines’ ongoing commitment to creating life-changing moments and joyful experiences for children with serious illnesses and their families.

Make-A-Wish PH Awards

In addition to this special occasion, Starlight shone a light on the extraordinary contributions of individuals, partners, and volunteers who have made Make-A-Wish Philippines’ mission a reality.

Corporate partners The Marketplace, Toy Kingdom, and Hard Rock Cafe, were recognized with the Agents of Joy award; Metrobank won the Best Partner Fundraising Initiative; Jollibee Foods Corporation and RealMe received the New Wishmakers of The Year award; and MaxiLife and Fairmont won the Corporate Partner of the Year award. These awards were symbols of gratitude from Make-A-Wish Philippines for the generous support that has helped the organization thrive and grant wishes for children in need.

Commitment to More Wishes

As Make-A-Wish Philippines enters its 25th year, its commitment to bringing joy, hope, and strength to children with critically illnesses continues to grow stronger. The organization has also partnered with inter-regional communications group COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises, to highlight its milestone 25th year.

With generous support from partners, individuals, and volunteers, Make-A-Wish has transformed the lives of 5,000 Filipino children, offering hope during the most challenging times. The power of every wish granted has not only created unforgettable memories but has also shown the community’s role in making children’s dreams come true.

Executive Director Aleah Ortiz remarked, “Our journey over the past 25 years has been a testament to the incredible power of hope and gratitude. As we look to the future, we are more committed than ever to bringing joy and strength to every child who needs it.”

“As the official public relations partner of Make-A-Wish Philippines, we at COMCO Mundo are truly honored to play a role in spread the power of wishes,” shared COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises’ Group Chief Executive Director, Co-Founder, and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel, Ferdinand L.
