Smart in new Gilas Pilipinas partnership with Chooks-to-Go

If there's one thing that can unite Filipinos for a moment...it's the ball game!

I grew up with all the cheering and excitement of watching games be it live or on television. One of my favorite games is basketball, it plays an essential part in Filipino culture. Being more than just a game and a sport, it has become the country’s source of pride and has exuded incredible power to unite people.

Gilas Pilipinas, the country’s national basketball squad, has become famous for its unique brand of basketball, as it turns a collective heartbeat each time the team steps on the hardcourt. In recent years, the team was able to own the term “puso” when they put up a tough fight against more fancied opponents in the global basketball arena. 



The solid support from Manuel V. Pangilinan and Smart Communications united the entire country in one hope that Gilas Pilipinas will finally triumph. For 2017, as the team suits up for its renewed quest, Chooks-to-Go joins Smart to reinforce Gilas’ campaign in its quest to qualify for the 2020 Olympics.

The new partnership was launched during the “#ManokNgBayan” event, which Chooks-to-Go hosted for MVP, Smart and Gilas Pilipinas.

Lazada Philippines Sweeps the Christmas Season with more than 400,000 items in 24 hours First delivery at 10:29 am on 11.11

PHILIPPINES, 15 November 2016 – Lazada Philippines has set a new record on the first day of its highly-anticipated shopping event. On November 11, Filipino shoppers checked out more than 400,000 items on the website and mobile app.

This was once again confirmed this year, as we saw consumers ordering from places as far as Bongao, Tawi-Tawi to purchase international and local brands not previously available to them. This makes us very excited about the future”

The operations team was in full swing as items shipped from the warehouse were 22x more than an average day. The shortest lead time from checkout to delivery was a record-breaking 8 hours, a feat worth celebrating at the Lazada warehouse. The first 11.11 delivery was received by a customer at 10:29am. 

Filipinos were truly in a Christmas shopping frenzy. With deals starting from midnight, shoppers spent about seven minutes on the Lazada’s website and fourteen minutes on the Lazada mobile app. In the first minute of the sale alone, a total of 241 items were checked out, ending the day with more than 400,000 items. 

11.11 is only the beginning of a month long sales event. During the next 4 weeks, Lazada will tailor its offering to all its customers’ interests with a weekly curated selection of items for beauty fans, supermoms and families, techies and fashionistas. The deals extend over 17 product categories including Fashion, Health & Beauty, Home & Living, and Electronics.

Cooking Demo by Chef Vicky Pacheco

My love for cooking is something that will always stay in my heart.  I think I got this interest since I was a child. I would always sneak to the kitchen just to watch my Dad do his cooking.  My favorite Aunt also encouraged me to try cooking.  She inspired me a lot, that I should cook with your heart.

I may be a Super Mom as what my daughter calls me, but when not in the mood for cooking…my answer is to eat out! Exploring different restaurants is actually one of my favorite things. I get to eat new food and at the same time, I also get ideas of what to serve my family. 

I got so excited upon receiving an invitation from my former schoolmate, blogger friend Joy Mendiola of www.occassionsofjoy.com .  A cooking demo at The Maya Kitchen, the one located at the 8th floor of Liberty Bldg. Arnaiz Ave., San Lorenzo, Makati City.


The cooking demo by Chef Vicky was so light and informative. I could say that she’s the Speed Chef! Why?  She moves swiftly! Can you imagine, showing five dishes in just 2 hours. That is something so amazing for me.

I learned five new recipes from Chef Vicky today.  And to name it, Flatiron Brisket, Manhattan Fish Chowder, Pizzaiola Pasta, Pomelo Orzo Salad and Chicken Piccata. Everything’s so good to my tummy. And seemed so easy to cook!

For the first time Harringtons will hold an auction at the 5th floor of Century City Mall on November 12, 2016, 2 p.m., Makati City.  The highly anticipated Harringtons Lifestyle Auction billed as “Treasures of the Century” is simply a commercial event but to discerning buyers, bidders and avid collectors, it is a serious yet an artful business of bidding.

PhilamLife : Securing a Child’s Future through Education


I was so privileged to attend the annual  Homeschooling Conference held every October of the year, which is almost and always few days away from my birthday.  I missed the past conferences and was already intentional to attend this year's event. So blessed, I made it!

We parents dream of a bright future for our children. This is why they study and select the type of teaching method that they think would be the best form of learning for their children.

So happy to have met and listened to these pool of inspiring speakers for the day. There will be no wasted time hearing and learning from the people with amazing thoughts and experiences.
The SPEAKERS
This was the main spirit of the sixth annual Philippine Homeschool Conference Expo (PHC) held at the SMX Convention Center, SM Aura Premier in Taguig City. With this year’s theme “From roots to wings”, PHC hopes to nourish the firm foundation that they have with parents by continuing to equip them with knowledge and virtues that would help them soar together. The event, led by the Homeschooling Association of the Philippine Islands (HAPI) gathered some of the country’s experts on homeschooling to share their insights on the importance and implications of homeschooling.

Among them was Mr. Eric Nicdao, District Manager of Philam Life. Nicdao explained that while there are distinct advantages to homeschooling, it is never without a challenge. “The cost of education for homeschooling a child is not inexpensive as others perceive it to be”, said Mr. Nicdao. Herbalife Philippines Signs Partnership with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines to Expand its Product Access Points Nationwide

THE PHILIPPINES, Manila, September 5, 2016– Herbalife Philippines, part of the global nutrition company Herbalife, announced a strategic partnership with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines to make it more convenient for Herbalife Independent Members and customers to access its nutrition products. Under the arrangement, Herbalife members and customers will be able to pick up Herbalife products that they’ve ordered from the company at Phoenix retail stations across the country.

This pilot program with Phoenix Petroleum Philippines is a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to sustainable expansion in line with its business growth in the country.  The agreement, and the recent opening of Herbalife’s Quick Response Center in Cebu City, is part of Herbalife’s plan to increase its product access and availability in the Philippines where a recent survey showed weight gain is the top concern of 84 percent of the population.

The big reveal hosted recently at Ascott Hotel in Bonifacio Global City made public the all-new mobile app that will make use of augmented reality (AR) with the help of the Jollibee Kids Meal box. It allows kids to try some interactive fun with the fast-food chain’s famous mascot, Jollibee.

The app was developed by renowned Los Angeles-based mobile innovation agency, Trigger. The agency has produced applications for other clients like Sony Pictures, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Lucas Film.

During the program, the Trigger team shared their experience in creating the app that captures the lovable persona of the dancing Jollibee. Trigger Senior Director of Client Services Natasha Weinstein shared their impression, “Everyone just really loves going to Jollibee. It struck us an important part of the Philippines’ pop culture."

This quick immersion of the app’s designers determined the features and the overall appeal of the app. Trigger President and Executive Creative Director Jason Yim explains the app plays on the sense of community. “Getting friends involved and getting your own avatar involved, that’s definitely the most fun part. You can’t help but smile when you do it."

Yim said, “The app is pushing how we can engage kids with augmented reality. It’s more than just having characters appear. It’s interactive and gives a much deeper experience.”

The experience began by watching the JolliDance Showdown app transform Jollibee’s friendly face on the Jolly Joy Box into a platform. These guests then captured photos for their screen avatars and, after choosing their image on screen, they watched Jollibee and friends enjoy Electro, Pop, and Rock beats.

Other features of the JolliDance Showdown App were also discussed, including unlocking new characters with every visit to Jollibee branches and scanning the Jolly Kiddie Meal promo board located at the store counters.
The event shared the most recent effort of the leading fast-food brand to augment the langhap-sarap experience.
