TV and movie actor Brylle Mondejar has
recently released his first single “Bayaning Pilipino” on all major music
streaming platforms. The self-written track is the former That’s Entertainment
star’s first ever attempt at releasing a song and he could not have chosen a
better theme to sing about.
“Bayaning Pilipino” is a rousing musical
tribute to overseas Filipino workers, recognizing their hard work and
sacrifice, their unwearying will to triumph over challenges, and their
invaluable contribution to the Philippine economy. That the song is released a
few days before the annually celebrated International Day of the Seafarer (June
25) is a conscious effort on Brylle’s part to thank and honor the valiant and
often under-appreciated men and women in the seafaring industry.
Alongside commending the OFWs, the song also
seeks to shine the spotlight on the hero that lives within the heart of every
Filipino. On this, Brylle shares, “We often hear people and even ourselves say
‘mahirap mahalin ang Pilipinas.’ But who else will love the Philippines? I choose
to believe in the uniqueness of the talent and skills of the Filipino workers.
And I choose never to give up believing in the goodness of the Filipino heart.
I hope this song becomes a reminder that there is much to love about the
Philippines and about Filipinos.”
“Bayaning Pilipino” is available for streaming on Spotify, iTunes, and Apple Music.
Brylle Mondejar was among the teen stars who were part of the
iconic talent reality TV show “That’s Entertainment”. He is currently part of
the cast of GMA Kapuso network’s daily afternoon soap “The Seed of Love.”
