From
pioneer hires to company trailblazers — the first batch of graduates from Camp
COMCO Mentorship Program Cycle 1 in 2016, AC Recio and Harvey Llamosa, have
been appointed as Associate Directors of COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises,
marking a pivotal moment for the group and its homegrown talents. The promotion
was announced at the first-ever Purple Ball, which also commemorated COMCO
Mundo's big wins at the International Association of Business Communicators
(IABC) 2024 Global Gold Quill Awards including the highly coveted Agency
of the Year Award.
Harvey Llamosa, from Camp COMCO Cycle 1
under House Bearcat, has been appointed to the role of Chief of Staff to the
Group Chief Executive Director and Associate Director for Executive Initiatives
and Communications / Partner. He helped organize and grow the group’s work for the
agency’s MARCOMAX (Marketing, Communications, Advocacy and Excellence) and GBX (Growth
of Brand Partnerships), manage the executive office’s strategic accounts and
projects, and lay the foundation for COMCO School of Communications. Mr.
Llamosa stated, "COMCO has played a significant role in my professional
development.” He sent out his gratitude to COMCO as his career soared high on
the provision of the company. “The knowledge, experience, and lessons I have
gained in almost 9 years are all attributed to COMCO. COMCO's influence extends
beyond my career, positively impacting my personal life as well. I am grateful
to COMCO for shaping me into the individual I am today, and I will always hold
this company in high regard,” he added.
AC Recio on the other hand came from Camp
COMCO Cycle 1 under House Hawksbill, and was promoted to Associate Director for
Digital, Content Studio & Multimedia Arts and Business Administrator Pro
Tempore / Partner. Mr. Recio was instrumental in the establishment and growth
of digital, social and content practice of the group. He supported the creation
of the COMCO’s creative media and content arm, SEA Wave & Spice Multimedia
Content Studio, and helped develop its services such as Digital Max, Content
Studio and Multimedia Arts. Mr. Recio also leads group’s Corporate BRANDENARC
(Brand Identity and Architecture) program.
Mr. Recio said, “COMCO is a fertile
training ground that's unafraid to be generous with passing down knowledge and
knowhow to its mentees and newbies. I want to honor the role that has been
appointed to me by giving my all in leading my team, and being as open as my
own mentors when it comes to paying it forward to the next generation of
communications practitioners.”
COMCO Mundo also proudly announced the
promotion of its other homegrown talents and newly assimilated leaders, further
strengthening its core team across various business units. Queenie Resmundo,
COMCO Southeast Asia’s Senior Brand Communications Manager for New PR and Smart
Social, has been elevated from auxiliary to official partner, while Patricia
Raña has been promoted to Associate Corporate Services Manager and Special
Assistant to the Comptroller. Eleanor Cenizal on the other hand has been
promoted to Associate Director for Corporate Services.
Cheska Gutierrez and Louise Gamboa earned
accelerated promotions — Ms. Gutierrez to Senior Corporate Services Officer
while Ms. Gamboa to Communications Marketing Services Officer, respectively.
Another notable promotion is that of Sharmaine Irish Padua, who received an
advanced and accelerated promotion to the position of Executive Initiatives and
Communications Officer, while Gabriel Hagen Gonzales takes on the role of
Digital and Multimedia Arts Officer.
Nicole Bamba takes on the role of Senior
Digital and Multimedia Arts Associate, while Ramil Balaong, the company’s
long-time support for liaison and messengerial requirements, has been promoted
to Logistics and Production Associate. Meanwhile, Shane Jhastin Picson has been
regularized in his role as Digital and Content Studio Associate
“COMCO is a
company that is proud, happy and excited when a team member gets promoted.
COMCOys are our real life metals, a solid recognition of the great work we're
doing for our people, having been able to hone and grow these individuals and
this team. And their growth clearly reflects the growth of our group as well,” said Ferdinand L. Bondoy, COMCO Mundo’s Group Chief Executive Director
and Lead Strategic Communications Counsel / Partner and Co-Founder.
“In COMCO, We have a plan for each of our people, it’s like we have a blueprint
for each one’s growth and development. They are not alone in their journey as
the company is here to help and guide them in their progress. When we hire
people, we don’t look at them as fillers for a job, but as potential next
leaders and successors who will continue our vision and legacy. And with this new set of promotions, our first
talent goals have been finally met, having our promising apprentices before
turn into rockstar practitioners now, and having been able to produce our very
own homegrown top caliber managers and directors,” he
added.
COMCO Mundo’s Purple Ball also celebrated
the win of five prestigious Gold Quill Awards for groundbreaking projects such
as the Century Tuna “Saving Our Seas” Initiative, the UNMASKED: The COMCO Mundo
Write to Ignite Initiative Season 3, and the Camp COMCO Mentorship Program.
This success culminated in COMCO Mundo being named Agency of the Year, making
it the first communications agency from the Philippines and Southeast Asia to
win this coveted award, and the only consultancy firm in Asia-Pacific to be
included in this year’s Gold Quill Award’s Best of the Best and Special Award
