Here’s how to shop online at Shangri-La Plaza

Missing the mall? Shangri-La Plaza is giving its #ShangCommunity a way to shop for everything they need from the safety of home. The Shang has teamed up with delivery apps JoyRide and MyKuya to help bring Shang brands and products straight to shoppers’ doorsteps! Here’s how to make use of the services.

When purchasing items from a single store, JoyRide is the best option. First, the customer contacts the store directly to order items. Payment options vary depending on the store. After paying, the store then packs the items carefully for the JoyRide driver to pick-up and deliver. The customer can choose to book the JoyRide driver themselves or ask the store to do so on their behalf. Delivery fees will be charged to the customer.

For a shopping spree across several stores in the Shang, MyKuya is the way to go. The app matches customers with their own personal shoppers, who can be instructed on what to purchase. First, download and register on the app, then pin the location on Mandaluyong City/Ortigas. Tap the Shang logo and select the duration of your shopping time. After being matched with a Kuya or Ate, you can discuss payment options. If it’s less than PHP 1,000.00, the personal shopper can pay for the items first. If the purchase is more than PHP 1,000.00, they will drop by your place first to get the money. Service fees will be deducted from the registered Visa or Mastercard.

Though COVID-19 continues to affect our way of life, Shangri-La Plaza makes sure to be responsive to shoppers’ needs, at the mall or online, during the new normal. To keep updated on everything Shang, including store openings, delivery options, and other information, follow and regularly check its social media pages, and join the Viber community at https://bit.ly/ShangCommunityinViber.

Shangri-La Plaza welcomes back shoppers with safety stickers designed by them!

Art Step in the Right Direction by the Shang Community features above designs created  by
Haylin, Juan Paolo Nacar, Karen Gomez, Wyna Dizon, Patrick Tiongson, and Karla Mae Muega.

With its recent reopening, Shangri-La Plaza involved its community in designing safety-distancing markers as part of the measures that keep the mall a safe environment for returning shoppers.

The initiative invited mall guests to come up with their own designs for social distancing stickers, which would be applied to floors and elevators. Since the announcement of Art Step in the Right Direction in its social media pages, Shangri-La Plaza has collected several hand-drawn and digitally-made designs from Shang Community members of different ages! Six of these wonderful creations can now be seen and experienced around the mall by visitors.

Aside from the social distancing markers, Shangri-La Plaza pioneered putting together an experienced and first aid-trained Emergency Response Group as part of its safety protocols, making regular rounds in its premises. The mall continuously conducts mandatory temperature checks at all entrances, has made automatic hand sanitizer dispensers available at the entrances, restrooms, and other key areas, and  performs regular rigorous sanitation. All mall guests and employees are required to wear a face mask to enter and through out their stay.

Shangri-La Plaza resumed operations with slightly reduced business hours, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Aside from supermarkets and essential stores, retail outlets, including fashion, beauty, and home brands, are already open. Shang encourages mall guests to follow and regularly check www.facebook.com/shangrilaplazaofficial and @shangrilaplazaofficial on Instagram for the updated list of store openings, mall hours, and other pertinent information.

Art Step in the Right Direction is one of Shangri-La Plaza's ways to strengthen the #ShangCommunity and to ensure that mall guests and employees are #SafeatShang.

Shangri-La Plaza sparks the beginning of the season as it lights up its grand Christmas tree

Christmas at Shangri-La Plaza officially begins on December 1, as the leading lifestyle destination holds its anticipated yearly Christmas Tree Lighting at the Grand Atrium, 6:00PM on Sunday.

Shangri-La Plaza EVP and General Manager Lala Fojas and Mandaluyong Councilors Benjie Abalos III and Charisse Abalos perform the ceremonial lighting of the mall’s 58-foot Santa’s workshop-inspired Christmas tree, considered as one of the largest in the city. The festivities then continue with performances from the “Father of Philippine Christmas Carols” Jose Mari Chan, acclaimed ensemble Philippine Madrigal Singers and its own Mini Madz.

The Shang’s grand Christmas tree is one of the centerpieces of the mall’s stunning holiday décor that showcase the magical, pristine, and colorful world of Santa’s Wonderland. Mall guests are welcomed by elves at the entrances, with candy cane pillars supporting the official seal of the North Pole, and giant stars and Christmas balls dangling from the ceiling.

Exciting activities and musical performances have also been lined-up for mall guests throughout the month of December, including the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra, Ateneo Chamber Singers, Ballet Philippines, and more. Aside from these, Shang has its ongoing holiday raffle promo with mall guests getting an opportunity to win a brand-new F-Pace Prestige SUV from luxury vehicle brand Jaguar with every P2,500 purchase until February 16, 2020.

There’s no better place to celebrate than at Shangri-La Plaza. #FeelTheShangVibe and step into Santa’s Wonderland as the magic of Christmas commences this December.

Modern takes on textile traditions at the Heritage Fashion Show

Shangri-La Plaza puts the spotlight on Filipino talent and creativity for its month-long celebration of “LIKHA”. Fashion takes a different turn with Shang's latest runway offering, the Heritage Fashion Show, parading pieces culled and curated from women micro-entrepreneurs, indigenous peoples, and popular designers.

Initiated by GREAT Women, this elegant anthology promotes local textile traditions by adapting them into stylish pieces in tune with current trends. The showcase includes GREAT Women’s own GW Collection, along with works from collaborators like fashion designer Rhett Eala, accessories brand Adante Leyesa, bag makers Fino Leatherware and LARA, shoe artisan Ai-She, and clothing label Tygie.

As part of anticipated pop-up event Filipino Flavors and Fabrics: A GREAT Women Festival of Homegrown Food and Design that promotes the country’s cultural heritage and livelihood-to-market sustainability, the show also highlights eco-conscious fashion (in contrast to mass produced fast fashion), which encourages slower production schedules, lower carbon footprints, and importantly, fair wages for the producers.

Shoppers at the Shang can update their wardrobe and accessories with contemporary Filipiniana looks from merchants like Beth Agarao, and support indigenous artisan labels like Angie’s Yakan Cloth, Cowhed, and K’Datu Souvenirs. Brands like Bidibidi is also a must for those who want to carry bags that combine traditional crafting techniques and upcycled materials.

Aside from the amazing fashion, the festival offers a delicious selection of local products such as Secret Kitchen of Samar delicacies, Pamora Farms frozen produce, and Proudly Promdi beverages.

Take part in #LikhaAtTheShang to fully #FeelTheShangVibe this June at Shangri-La Plaza.
