PARADISE DYNASTY : The ANG Foodie Family's place for hearty authentic Chinese meal

What do you have in mind after coming up with a schedule of meeting up with family or friends? Of course, a place where to share a good meal or two. With my foodie family, it is a must to first agree where we will dine before we leave our place.

For this Chinese New Year 2023 celebration, we decided to spend our early dinner at SM Aura, Taguig, where Paradise Dynasty is situated. We celebrated with my only sister who also grew up loving chopsticks because she loves Chinese food.

Our family just keep on coming back here because of their authentic Chinese dishes, actually . We do have our favorite  Xiao Long Bao and we are a super fan of their original flavor.  Easy authentic soup dumpling that you have to eat the proper so you can enjoy the hot soup inside.

Paradise Dynasty is known to be the 1st World’s International 8 Flavors XLB. A delicate dimsum with soup inside it. Better find the technic how to eat it without breaking it before you put it in your mouth. What I do, I use chopsticks to pick on the tip gently while the other hand with soup spoon to support it from breaking

If you are the adventurous type, better try the legendary Xiao Long Bao 8 flavours such as original, luffa gourd, foie gras, black truffle, crab roe, cheese, garlic and Szechuan, the same order of how it should be eaten. You don’t have to worry, there is a guide on the table.

Take your Xiao Long Bao experience to the next level. Though I’m already happy and satisfied with the original flavor. You may give it a try.

Our meal will not be complete without having their Stir-fried Shredded Pork in black bean sauce served with Chinese crepes. There is something about this dish that I don't like to miss it every time we dine here.
₱388

Here's how my babies eat their Shredded Pork

La Mian with Braised Pork Belly in Signature Pork Bone Soup at ₱330

This  kind of ramen, the Chinese version, is something to fill your tummy with tasty soup and real flavorful tender meat. That's my young foodie's choice. You will never go wrong with their noodles as they are served hot with complete toppings of egg, braised pork, seaweeds, mushroom, bok choy and spring onion.

Stir-fried Broccoli with Garlic at ₱288. My sister's choice. This simple vegetable dish is obviously healthy with its garlicky goodness. Best paired with wanton soup according to my foodie sister.

Vegetable and Pork Wanton in Signature Pork Bone Soup at ₱238

It was my foodie sister's first time to try this dish. She love the rich taste of the soup that is so good with the pork wanton. Best for moments of feeling under the weather.

.

Braised Tofu with Sliced Pork with Mushrooms at ₱288 with thick sauce that makes all the ingredients mixed well together and creates a good sauteed

Crispy Sweet & Sour Pork  ₱288

Mr. Ang’s personal favorite as the carnivore in the family. And also a staple food for us whenever we crave something Chinese. Perfect comfort food a long week of hard work.

The crispy pork chunks combined with the right flavor of sweet and sour taste can satisfy your cravings for it's balance of taste. While the pineapple, onion and bell pepper complete this dish.

Chinese Bun (deep-fried) at  ₱75 (3 pcs.) Surprisingly, it's still under the dimsum menu. You'll enjoy its puffy texture, just a take pinch and dip it to condensed milk served on the side and you are good go.

Chilled Glutinous Rice Roll with Red Bean paste topped with Grated nuts at  ₱168. A Chinese New Year celebration will not be complete without the presence of

HONOLULU CAFE: Our Place of Comfort Food

Finally, after almost two years of pandemic, quarantine and lockdown due to COVID-19, at last we’re back at Honololulu Café, SM Aura. And, because we miss their food that much, we had a kind of family feasting for our weekend early dinner out.

My foodie family agreed on getting the mainstay dishes that we truly love. These are the best sellers from the menu.

To be honest, we have never been to Hong Kong yet, but I could say that Honolulu Cafe, SM Aura Premier, made us feel as if we are in Hong Kong. From the ambiance to the authentic dishes they serve, as if we've been there!

Did you know that Honolulu Hong Kong Cafe is the oldest tea restaurant in Hong Kong since 1940. They serve satisfying unique dishes experience.

CURRY FISH BALL

Let’s start with the first thing that I really miss from Honolulu Café, the street food that I love since childhood days. But this time with a twist of flavor, curry. One of the best selling from the menu. Here, I get to enjoy the real fish ball that is round, if you know what I am saying.  An original Hong Kong street food favorite! Smell and taste the authenticity when you order this must try Curry fish ball!

FRIED PRAWN WITH SALTED EGG YOLK

My ultimate favorite from the menu since I’m a shrimp-a-holic! You will surely love the magic of the perfect combination of prawn and salted egg yolk. Yes, it did some wonder! The crispy yet juicy shrimp covered with salted egg yolk, rock my taste buds. And I can eat this every day without a fuss! This can be your new shrimp dish favorite once you tried it.

THREE MEAT BBQ/ROAST PORK/SOY CHICKEN

If you want to try tasty meaty stuff, this plate of three meat will surely satisfy your protein loading game, though there’s white carbs underneath. But this is a complete meal to cover your hunger.

CURRY BEEF BRISKET CASSEROLE

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m not a fan of curry. But, from the time I had a taste of this hot pot, everything changed. I started craving for this meal whenever I think of Honolulu Café. The tender beef that almost melts in your mouth with curry flavor making it more delectable, another comforting food to enjoy every single day. You’ll also appreciate their generous serving to fill your grumbling tummy.

DEEP FRIED HONEY GARLIC SPARERIBS

Yes, we are a foodie family. The three of us love exploring the city to taste what’s new and what’s hot from the menu. My Mr. Foodie’s personal favorite as the carnivore in the family, is none other than the spareribs. The tasty honey garlic combination compliments a lot.

SOY CHICKEN

If you crave for juicy and flavorful chicken meat from traditional Cantonese dish, soy chicken is also served with distinct sauce that you'll appreciate.

HONG KONG STLYE NOODLES LUNCHEON MEAT

My foodie daughter ordered for this one, because she’s our noodle/ramen girl.  She could finish a bowl or two of noodles than a small bowl of rice. She enjoyed the hot soup with noodles as it has slices of her favorite luncheon meat and fried egg on top.

EGG TART & BUNS

Don’t miss the signature egg tarts and buds!  Breads are baked daily so definitely sure of its freshness. Baked to your taste.  This soft, flaky 192 layers of crust with creamy custard filling will make you ask for more. Like, every bite will give you a reason to finish a box or more. You should also try the different buns. Better check out the bakery menu, they're great for breakfast and snacks, actually, for any time of the day!

EGG TART

MEXICO CHOCOLATE CHIP BUN

See the inviting glass panel showing the well-seasoned meats? So tempting sight! Honolulu Cafe offer a wide variety of authentic Chinese dishes that you can enjoy any time of the day. Have a taste of Hong Kong here!

Our favorite place to get Hong Kong style cha chaan teng food!

The bakery will invite and welcome you !

Treat Your Mom Like A Queen At KING CHEF Seafood Restaurant

Mother's may have a special standard date, which is the 2nd Sunday of May. But at KING CHEF, it's a whole month of May celebration!

Give momma a kitchen break and treat the Queen for a Royal meal with a royal ambiance.

This is our second year, having the opportunity to have a sneak peek of the Mother's Day Set Menus. So timely for my Chinese food craving some few days ago. Of course, craving satisfied! And #TheANGfoodiefamily together with the #KTG family had a super gastronomic afternoon!

Two words to best describe our mothers... amazing and awesome! At this year's King Chef's Mother's Day Set Menus these beautiful words were used to name our mom's choices.

Here are the dishes from the set menus.

AWESOME MOM'S CHOICE

I find it truly awesome, from the soup to dessert, a complete Chinese meal good for the family of three to six members. Well, if you'll get the two sets, it can cover for a family of ten or more.

Wait, there's more! Order 1 set menu and get FREE mouth-watering Steamed Pompano in Chili Toasi Sauce.

FREE Gelatin for Mom's dessert! We love flowers, what more if we can eat it?

I honestly loved everything from the two menus. But of course, I still have my personal choice from this set, the Suahe with Salted Egg.  From the first time I've tried this dish from King Chef, like two years ago, I always look forward to having one for every visit.

The King's Special Crabroe Soup is the soup of my choice. While from the 4 Kinds Cold Cuts Platter, I really enjoy the seaweeds.

4 Kinds Cold Cuts Platter

Sizzling 5 Spice Beef

Suahe with Salted Egg

Mapo Tofu in Hotpot

Yang Chow Fried Rice

AMAZING MOM'S CHOICE

Our young foodie definitely have her own personal choice. Abi's all-time favorite soup from King Chef is none other than the Seafood with Spinach Soup. The thick creamy spinach soup can make her tummy full. And with this menu, she got her new favorite, the Crispy Chicken in Mango Sauce, actually, it was everyone's favorite! The sauce added real flavor to the golden fried crispy chicken. They're perfect together.

The Boneless Pata Tim with Steamed Buns is a sure winner for meat lovers like Mr. Ang. While the fresh steamed buns for me and Abi, we love the buns!

Beef with Broccoli
Sauteed Squid in X.O. Sauce

Crispy Chicken in Mango Sauce

What's New At King Chef Seafood Restaurant?

I super loved this soup. A combination of three ginseng in one bowl of healthy soup. Another interesting part of this soup was its tender spareribs. Meat falls off the bones! It was boiled twice!

Double Boiled Spareribs with 3 kinds of Ginseng Soup

Sauteed Seafood & Apple in X.O. Sauce

This may look intimidating as it says Braised Chilli Fish Head. No, it's not literally spicy. It's so delectable! I can have all the patience to finish the challenging head fish just to find the flavorful meat.

Hunan Tofu Hotpot

Well, all the dishes served made me and my family happy. Well-prepared, well-seasoned, well-done and everything! From the two Mother's Day Set Menus plus the New Menus, will surely make a come back.

Remember to show your love to your mom as you can invite her for an intimate dinner or family lunch. This month of May, King Chef came up with a special menu for the mothers and the family to enjoy. See from the photo above the two sets of Mother's Day Special Set Menu. This will be offered from the 1st of May 1 till the 31st. While the New dishes will be available until the end June 2019.
