Takeda Healthcare Philippines Inc. (“Takeda
Philippines”) has been recognized as one of the Philippines Best WorkplacesTM
2023. The award was given during the in-person recognition gala night recently
held at Hilton Manila.
The biopharmaceutical leader ranked 8 in the
small business category with 100% of its employees saying that the company is a
great place to work for compared to 53% of employees at a typical global
company. Employees cite that they are collectively proud to tell others they
work in Takeda Philippines and that they feel physically safe to work there.
They also think that management genuinely seeks and responds to suggestions and
ideas, and that they are treated with respect regardless of position, age and
gender.
Over the years, Takeda Philippines has
invested in offering its employees a healthy and holistic working environment
through efforts that allow them to collaborate with one another and grow
through various training and development
initiatives such as a Mentoring Program called Partnerships for Growth (PFG), Career
development and Energy management programs, monthly TGIF sessions, workshops on
diversity equity and inclusion and implementation of CSR programs.
The company also conducts onboarding programs for
the new employees to drive an access to medicines mindset and to embed
‘Takeda-ism’ philosophy which incorporates the values of integrity, fairness, honesty
and perseverance which are brought to life through actions based on
Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business, in that order. Takeda Philippines empowers
its employees to determine optimal solutions that will allow them to be
productive and effective in their roles.
"I believe that one of the reasons we were
recognized as a best workplace is because we cultivate a culture of growth and
respect for one another, and passion in what we do to create an impact on the
Filipino patients. We also provide our employees with a work environment where
the job serves a deeper meaning and purpose," said Loreann Villanueva,
Country Manager of Takeda Philippines. “We are proud that we have been
recognized in two consecutive years by the Great Place to Work Institution. In
2022, we were certified Great Place To Work, and this year, we were gratified
that we are certified Philippines Best WorkplacesTM. This continues
to reinforce our commitment in bringing better health and brighter future to
our people and patients.”

How Great Place to Work
determines the Best Workplaces List in the Philippines
Employees are invited to
respond to 60 survey questions describing the extent to which their
organization creates a great place to work For AllTM, meaning that the company
empowers all individuals to reach their full human potential.
85% of the evaluation is based
on what employees report about their experiences of trust and reaching their
full human potential as part of their organization, no matter who they are or
what they do. Great Place To Work analyzes these experiences relative to each
organization’s size, workforce make up, and what’s typical in their industry
and region. The remainder of the evaluation is an assessment of all employees’
daily experiences of the company’s values, people’s ability to contribute new
ideas, and the effectiveness of their leaders to ensure they’re consistently
experienced.
To ensure surveys truly
represent all employees, Great Place To Work requires enough people in each
organization to respond that results are accurate to a 95% confidence level and
5% margin of error or better. The company then reviews any anomalies in survey
responses, news and financial performance to ensure there aren’t any
extraordinary reasons to believe we couldn’t trust a company’s survey results.
