In a remarkable display of resilience, students from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ Department of Advertising and Public Relations (PUP-DAPR) and Innity Philippines, in an event co-presented by IN2IT Cosmetics, successfully launched the GEAR UP! seminar-workshop. Despite coming across an unforeseen challenge, the event not only demonstrated the participants' dedication to navigating the digital media landscape but also showed the beauty beyond adversity.
GEAR UP, which featured insightful sessions by speakers Andre Agawin, Head of Media Operations, and Ninz Alamar, Media Strategy Manager, both from Innity Philippines, launched on December 5, 2023, at the PUP-COC Audio Visual Room. The event successfully guided participants through the complexities of digital media planning and buying, offering invaluable knowledge intended to equip skills needed to make data-driven decisions in the digital world curated by these industry experts. Enhancing the overall experience, the event featured booth activities that added a touch of beauty and empowerment. Together with Red Images, the official studio partner, a custom-built photo booth captured moments of innovation and passion, allowing participants to express themselves visually. On top of that, an IN2IT Cosmetics vanity dresser was present to ensure that every participant not only felt but also looked their best, flawlessly matching its mission of offering world-class beauty to Filipinos.
However, as fate would have it, an earthquake occurred prompting the immediate evacuation of all participants and guests for their safety. The safety of everyone involved was their top priority, leading to the decision to cut the program short following the announcement of the university to halt all the ongoing activities inside the premises. As the earthquake posed a temporary disruption, the organizers together with Innity Philippines exhibited adaptability and commitment to the participants' learning journey. The workshop session was then shifted to an asynchronous format, ensuring that the learning objectives were met despite the unforeseen events. This approach demonstrates how challenges can be transformed into opportunities for growth and learning.
